tradesmen.JPGDan Greene, taking a break from being a Mountain Mover and a Butterfly in Love, is now performing songs about different jobs. The Tradesmen, pictured, showcased those tunes Sunday night. Greene is the guitar player in both the longtime New Haven favorite The Butterflies of Love and new local favorite, The Mountain Movers. His band features an array of musicians that can be found in various other New Haven bands including Diamond Jay and the Rough and, of course, Greene’s other bands.

dan%20greene.JPGBesides playing music, Greene, pictured, is also a writer and teacher. Once a poetry instructor at the Educational Center for the Arts and now an elementary school teacher in New Haven, he inspires both the young and the rowdy.

The 5-piece band rambled through a short but upbeat set. Greene’s sweet yet somehow uncomforting vocals led the way through every song and the drummer, Jay from Diamond Jay, played in an appropriately off-beat manner.

The band has no upcoming dates planned yet, but stay tuned. The Mountain Movers play at BAR on Sunday, August 26.
