Well-Meaning Bill Threatens Connecticut

There's one problem with a U.S. Senate bill that would help people in other states obtain mental-health care: It would weaken care in states like Connecticut that already have stronger laws. "My heart goes out to patients in other states who have no mental health protections," said state Healthcare Advocate Kevin P. Lembo (pictured). "But at the end of the day we must protect the people of Connecticut from unwelcome and unwise federal preemption of our laws."
