She Did It. They’re Too Addicted to Do It

Republican Gov. Jodi Rell took the extra step this week of telling her state department heads not to raise money for her re-election campaign. (Click here for the Courant’s article.) That comes on top of her pledge not to accept special-interest money. Meanwhile, the Democratic candidates, including New Haven’s John DeStefano, continue shaking down their own employees and contractors for money. They refuse to take even modest steps toward cleaning up elections or addressing their dirty-money addiction — even though they and their party claim they are the ones who want to clean up the state’s corrupt politics. How many more elections are the Democrats going to hand the Republicans through this kind of ethically bankrupt idiocy?
