Robbery Suspect Sought

Someone robbed Sovereign Bank at 123 Church Street at 11:39 a.m. Monday. Police are looking for him — and want your help. The suspect is male, 5’4” to 5’7”, medium build, with a gray mustache and beard. He wore a maroon cap and a green Army-style jacket. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money, then walked away from the bank, possibly heading east on Chapel Street. Think you’ve seen him? If so, call the Robbery/Burglary Unit of the New Haven Department of Police Service at 946-6304. It’s all on the down low, of course.
