A Class of Leaders

by Staff | December 19, 2005 12:50 PM |

Every year the Chamber of Commerce’s leadership arm takes up-and-coming leaders at New Haven area organizations and trains them in an “executive orientation” course to assume larger civic roles. Participants learn a lot about how the community really works and form valuable relationships. They learn about “the history and current state of New Haven, arts, tourism, education, philanthropy and corporate giving, and board development.” This year’s class just graduated.

Here’s who took place in the program (and whom to expect to see ascending on the civic stage): Chris George, executive director, Interfaith Refugee Ministry (IRM); Dr. Ann Levett, executive director, School Development Program, Child Study Center, Yale University; Joe Meade, district manager, Junior Achievement of SW NE; Steven Paganelli, executive director and CEO, Greater New Haven Convention & Visitors Bureau; Robert Parnell, director of asset operations, PSEG Power Connecticut, LLC; Michael Priore, senior vice president, SSC Security & Investigations, Althea Marshall Richardson, president and CEO, Empower New Haven, Inc.; Megan Rock, vice president for institutional advancement, Southern Connecticut State University; Susan St. Onge, chief development officer, Yale-New Haven Hospital; Catherine Shanley, former director of adult services, SARAH, Inc.; and Cyndee Wales, vice president, SBC (AT&T).
