A Good Place For A Bike

It’s spring, and New Haven’s bravest want to make sure no New Haven kids are deprived of the liberating feeling of rolling around on two wheels. The New Haven County Firefighters’ Emerald Society is hosting a bike drive to bring new and slightly used bikes to “deserving children in New Haven County.” To donate bikes or new helmets, contact them by email, or call: FF J Hines, New Haven FD, 203-804-9535 or FF Pat Marcarelli, North Haven FD, 203-671-6193… Meanwhile in Dwight, warm weather has already brought packs of wheelin’ teens to the streets. In a reminder of the need for parental supervision, police reported a crowd of teens on bikes at Elm and Kensington streets Thursday between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., with some females fighting but no arrests.
