CETA Redux

The name “CETA” used to mean job-training and hope for young people in New Haven. It was a federal program that shut down in the 1980s. Darnell Goldson wants to bring CETA back. Goldson (pictured at left at a recent vote recount for a local election) has proposed a new $8.7 million a year CETA summer-job and education program for young people, to be funded by a 0.27 percent across-the-board budget cut for all state government departments. Goldson is challenging State Rep. Toni Walker for the Democratic nomination for the 93rd District seat.
