FBI Special Agent Kathy Shumaker (pictured) went on the Internet to catch a 37 year-old who allegedly met a 14 year-old over myspace.com and then sexually assaulted her. Click here to read about arrests made in two separate cases and announced at a press conference in New Haven Thursday. And click here to read the text of an e-mail message the 39 year-old allegedly sent to the girl. (Warning: The message is profane and deeply disturbing. The Independent is publishing it to raise awareness of the issue.)

well as i read this, it saddens me. i myself, made the foolish mistake of meeting someone off of myspace. i went to his apartment, which he shared with a roomate. i had 2 beers and woke up 6 hours later with a handcuff on one wrist and blind fold around my neck. i had bruises and was sore from head to toe.i believe i was drugged and raped. but being that i was so out of it, i drove the 3 hours home, and got in the bathtub. i scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed until i was raw. my mother found me passed out on the bathroom floor about 30 minutes later. again i felt so groggy, imust have just stepped out of the bathtub and passed out.
myspace is a scary place when it comes to predators, they are out there, they are real. this should be taken very seriously. i learned a hard lesson, but it was learned. i will never meet anyone off the internet ever again.
no matter how well u think u know them, YOU DONT!!!
