The effort to erect a monument in Criscuolo Park to the Connecticut 29th Colored Civil War Regiment has taken a leap forward. State Sen. Marty Looney and Toni Harp announced that they’ve secured $175,000 to be approved Friday by the State Bond Commission. “Monuments like these are pillars of our rich history,” Looney (pictured) said in a release.
