A 27-year-old man from the Hill took his own life in public view Tuesday. Police found him lying in the street at Sylvan Avenue and Ward Street at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday with a wound to the head and a gun in his hand. Police say he shot himself in the head in front of his girlfriend … Also in the Hill, on Elliott Street, a woman was shot in the thigh by a 54-year old male acquaintance around 8:45 p.m., police said. The man ran home. Police surrounded his house, persuaded him to exit, and made the arrest.
