Drinking a Nuclear Bomb

“Underage Drinking is drinking 2 your destruction * don’t let drinking be the nuclear bomb in your life!” writes 11th-grader Akeem Antrum on a poster hanging in City Hall. Antrum’s art is there to promote a forum next week where parents, teachers, and teens will talk about how to curtail underage drinking. The state House of Representatives had its own answer this week — state reps just voted to make underage drinking illegal on private property. The bill now moves on to the Senate. “Start Talking Before They Start Drinking,” a town hall meeting hosted by New Haven’s Commission on Substance Abuse Policy and Prevention, takes place Wednesday, April 26, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hall of Records.
