Making Google Video Usable, If You Must

by NHI Webmaster | April 15, 2006 12:27 AM |

It is a 2 step fix which requires putting the tag before and closing tag after. Note that the closing tag has a slash before the word “object”. If you do not properly close the tag (for instance adding another opening tag () by copying and pasting without paying attention, you WILL mess up everything else on the page that comes after it in certain browsers(this has proven to be true a number of times already). The closing tag must be done properly.

The second (important) step is copy the reduced width and height into the opening object tag. So more specifically:

<object style=”width:165px; height:134px;”><embed etc. code from Google…>

Here is an example (the bold is the relevant code):

<object style=”width:165px; height:134px;”><embed style=”width:165px; height:134px;” id=”VideoPlayback” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=1817175236265712499&hl=en” flashvars=”“>
