Mid-block crossers struck

A 48-year-old West Haven man is suffering life-threatening injuries after being struck by a taxi while crossing downtown Temple Street Tuesday night. He and a 51-year-old female, both of West Haven, were crossing Temple mid-block between Crown and George Streets at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday when the taxi struck them both. The woman was treated and released from Yale-New Haven Hospital.
