Two more young men were shot in Newhallville Tuesday, bringing this week’s total to four. Police responded to reports at 7 p.m. that two people had been shot on the corner of Shelton Avenue and Ivy Street. A 26-year-old victim was on the ground with a wound in his neck. A 23-year-old man, believed to be the second victim in the shooting, later appeared at a local hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg. … Up Whalley Avenue, would-be victims prevailed over an armed, masked robber by slamming the door in his face. A man in a ski mask showed up at the rear of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Whalley and the Ella T. Grasso Boulevard late Tuesday. According to the police report, “Subject brandished handgun at the rear door. Employee slammed door.” The suspect fled, defeated.
