Come On In, Officer!

Police were investigating a broken window at 199 Franklin St. at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday when a group of kids said someone had threatened them with a gun. Officers approached that somebody, who swore it wasn’t him — and invited officers into his apartment to prove he had no gun. True, there was no gun in sight — but what about all those baggies and narcotics? Whoops. Officers arrested the 23-year-old for what looked like a dealer’s horde: crack and powder cocaine, a coffee grinder and a heat sealer to package it up. … Police have arrested two juveniles for a purse-snatching on Chapel and Day Streets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. One of the young men matched the description of an earlier mugging at a pharmacy at Chapel and Beers Streets Wednesday morning. A woman at the pharmacy said a man came up to her, made lewd comments, ripped her shirt open, hit her with a gun then ran off with her purse. M.B.
