Lamont Grabs Spot in Primary

On the first evening of a two-day, bare-knuckle fight at the state Democratic convention, Ned Lamont , the challenger out to oust Joe Lieberman from the U.S. Senate, swayed double the delegates needed to land himself a place at the Democratic primary in August. He grabbed 33 percent of delegates’ votes; Lieberman beat him 2-1 for the party endorsement. The Independent blitzed the convention with team coverage.
