Who Wins? “Underdog”? Or Big Oil’s “Foe”?

Days before their Democratic convention showdown, U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman and challenger Ned Lamont released new commercials. They’re slick; Lamont goes for the light touch, Lieberman for the heart, as he positions himself as the champion of the underdog. Click here and here to see Lamont’s ads. Lamont is being way too nice to Lieberman. I know that he has a Jimmy Stewart-type personality, but really, the gloves need to come off against Joe. Where are the picture of the weeping widows, the limbless vets, and innocent Iraqi children with their bodies blown apart?
If Joe Lieberman's kids were over there, I might give him a break. But for him to be so stupidly hawkish, to have helped promote the false linkage between Iraq and Al Qaeda, and to still support the Bush occupation-- It's unforgivable!

OhMyGod!
I just watched Joe's ad about standing up to big oil. IT's A COMPLETE LIE.
Joe voted FOR Bush's energy bill. CT Senator Chris Dodd voted against. NY Senators Clinton and Schumer voted against. MA Senators Kerry and Kennedy voted against. NJ Senators Corzine and Lautenburg voted against. DE Senators Biden and Carper voted against. VT Senators Leahy and Jeffords didn't. RI Senators Reed and Chafee voted against. As did NH Senators Gregg and Sununu! (The last three Senators are Republicans.) Every Senator from the region voted against the give away to the energy corporations. EXCEPT JOE.
Why did Joe vote to hand these corporations billions? He won't say. And now he has the gall to say he's for the little guy? Man of integrity, my derriere!
Lieberman campaign manager Sean Smith thinks we are all stupid. In fact, his self-proclaimed forte is deceiving low-information voters... Shame on him. Shame on Joe.
