What a fiasco. The First Selectwoman should consider resigning due to her inability to control her husband's and town attorney's wishes to how she should "handle" issues of the Town. Seems like she is in a "no win" situatiion." The Town of Branford deserves a First Selectperson who is FOR the TOWN and NOT for THEMSELVES FOR MONEY or FINANCIAL REASONS.

I have read this document and I have to say at first blush it does not sound unreasonable! It prepares Branford to become a bigger city, exactly what the Marcus/Morris administration would like. Look, it is inevitable that growth will come. But it needs to be closely monitored by the present RTM form of government that has boards and commissions overseeing its various facets of operation. How we grow needs to be closely monitored. If you have ever witnessed the approval of the town’s budget let me tell you it is PAINFULL! But very necessary! We should not lose sight of the fact that the people that volunteer in these various capacities do so for the love of there town and community.
As a 50+ year resident of Branford I have never seen so many people upset about how our town is being run, and there distrust for the elected officials. The Democratic Party has been the predominant party of Branford for many years and certainly they have had there pluses and minuses. I have also never seen this much discord within a party, this anomaly should scream volumes to the voting public. Further I can’t remember the last time I have seen such an overt display of abuse of power in the granite-gate scandal. And now before there is any closure on that issue they attempt a charter revision to grow government and remove control from the people that really care about our town. How does Cheryl figure she is going to keep her campaign promise of lowering taxes? Say what you will about some of the outspoken Republicans just remember they’re not corrupt!

Wow! This is great! I have never seen so many citizens angry with their Town Government. In this case, not only were the people blatantly lied to during the election, they continue to get fleeced on a weekly basis with the additional costs of committees, investigations into cover ups, a corrupt Town Consul, Granite-gate, the well known closed door policy of Cheryl Morris, etc...!
But,
Branford Voters (or I should say the absence thereof) only have themselves to blame! In the future, if you meet someone who says that local elections do not matter; this is a great example to motivate them to get to the polls in an off year for elections.
Branford will survive this election cycle and learn something in the process.
