AFL-CIO Backs DeStefano, Hedges on Lieberman

The state AFL-CIO rallied behind John DeStefano’s gubernatorial candidacy at the Omni Hotel in New Haven Tuesday. It also backed Joe Lieberman in the U.S. Senate race, but hedged its endorsement in the face of vociferous support for challenger Ned Lamont. The Teamsters like Lieberman, but they also respect Lowell Weicker's opinion, given Weicker's tireless efforts as a director for World Wrestling Entertainment.
