Reports Officer Joe Avery: “The police department has recognized a noticeable increase in burglaries over the last two weeks. The areas most affected are the Beaver Hills, East Rock and Fair Haven policing districts.” Among Avery’s seasonal tips: Close and lock windows when you leave home. Don’t leave the front door open when you work in the back yard. Make sure air conditions are fastened in windows.
