The fourth floor of the NewAlliance building at 195 Church St. — aka “Gallery 195” — has come alive with the photographs of Harold Shapiro (at left) and painter Amanda Durant (at right).

Meanwhile, New Haven’s latest ethnic adventure is Thali, an elegant eatery serving Indian cuisine at the corner of George and Orange in the Ninth Square. Here’s who made it to the opening:

Nick Lavorato (AEP and member of Branford RTM) with Mitch Young (Business New Haven).

Tim Rosendahl of the Dakota Food Group (Orlando, Fl.), Diane Goclowski (manager of Quinnipiac Travel) and Lori Evon (senior development manager, Gaylord Hospital).

Woody Ford (advertising impressarioand photographer) and Joe Cifarelli (framer to the artists).

Shana Schneider (Yale Properties) and Mike Morand (Yale Office of New Haven and Government Affairs and Bradley Broadhead (Yale Presidential Fellow working at New Haven City Hall).

Nick Lavorato, Lokesh Sharma (owner of Universal Travels) with daughter Nikki (a fashion designer).
