Weekend Campaign Round-Up

Happy birthday, Dan Malloy and John DeStefano. The two Democratic gubernatorial candidates got an early present: the state’s attorney is investigating Lisa Moody (pictured), Gov. Rell’s closest aide, for a possibly criminal violation. Click here for the Courant’s story… The Independent said Joe Lieberman won last week’s senatorial debate. Monday’s Register editorializes that Ned Lamont won. We focused on style; the Reg focused on substance… David Brooks is the latest out-of-state Big Media Republican (following Bill O’Reilly and the Wall Street Journal editorial page) to tell Connecticut Democrats they should choose Lieberman over Lamont. (Does that strike anyone else as strange?) Brooks’ Times column does violence to Lieberman’s true record of working with far-right evangelical Christian groups. For a more accurate and trenchant analysis, click here for Steve Kalb’s column in Monday’s Hamden Daily News…
