New Haven labor leader Bob Proto (pictured) said he was showing how the labor movement sticks by his friends when he organized a rally in support of Sen. Joe Lieberman’s reelection campaign this week. An angry local activist shot off an open letter characterizing Proto’s move as “a perfect example of why unions in the U.S. are going down the tubes.” Click here to read that letter.
