Sunday night at 9:27 p.m., a man was walking behind four male teenagers on Westville’s Dayton Street. The victim had been robbed in the past, and was carrying pepper spray. When a teen turned around with a gun and tried to mug him, he sprayed the attacker, thwarting the attempt but dropping his cell phone in the process. The sprayed assailant made off with the cell phone, but took no money. A BB gun was later found near the scene.
