Second Granite-Gate Hearing Set for Tonight

Ed Marcus at May 11 RTM Meeting The AdHoc Committee of the RTM holds its second hearing tonight into the “Granite-Gate” and Stony Creek Quarry controversy. The meeting begins at 7:30 PM at the Canoe Brook Center.
Last week Branford Town Counsel Ed Marcus outlined his role in the controversial case. His opening statement has not been readily available to the public but the Eagle has obtained it. To read it, click here.
Scott Thayer, the Committee’s chair said eight witnesses have been invited to attend tonight’s meeting, including former First Selectman John Opie, Police Commission chairwoman Joanne McGuigan, Police Chief Robert Gill, Detective Duncan Ayr and Michael Milici, the former head of the Democratic party.
“At the time of this writing,” Thayer said, ” the witnesses have either confirmed that they will attend, or have not notified the Committee chair that they are unable to attend. They have been invited to provide statements to the Committee if they wish, and also to answer questions from the Committee.”
He did not list who would be there and who would not.
