The Boot Is Back

Tow trucks, vows City Hall, “will be out in force” Wednesday night — and throughout the fall — so look out. If you haven’t paid your motor vehicle taxes, the towers are coming for your car. The city’s tax collection office has revved up its infamous “bootfinder” to locate cars belonging to delinquents. Its database includes not just the 20,000 current delinquent bills, but all the old outstanding ones, too. To get straight with the tax collector, and keep your car out of the towing yard, call 946-8054.

At 8:45 pm this evening, I watched Anthony's High Tech towing service (red truck w/ airbrushed flames) tow a silver Toyota Echo across the street from me (258 nicoll st.). It hit the Saturn in front of him w/ texas plates and left a large scuff mark on the Saturn's bumper. If this was your car and you need a witness, I was sitting outside and saw the whole thing.

p.s. there were 3 trucks total, one running the bootfinder device.
