Lamont: Bedtime’s “Negotiable”

An adorable little girl put Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Ned Lamont on the spot. “What’s your position on bedtime?” she demanded. Lamont’s response: “Negotiable?” That satisfied the girl. Whether this scene — part of a new ad on education — satisfies the voters depends on whether it succeeds in associating Lamont with more issues than just the Iraq War. Click here to watch the ad. The campaign of Lamont’s opponent, incumbent Joe Lieberman, responded with this attack on the ad posted on a “Full Lamonty” blog it has set up. That blog is part of a more effective media (check out this ad) and Internet strategy than the Lieberman camp demonstrated in the primary. Lieberman, meanwhile, goes for short, simple and clear in his new “Lightbulb” ad. Click here to watch it. And click here and here to watch Lamont bloggers’ parodies of the ad.
