A pedestrian was struck Tuesday after a driver drifted off the road due to a medical condition, and Monday night saw two attempted street robberies. Read on for details from police spokeswoman Bonnie Winchester.

After school hours Monday in a field behind the Roberto Clemente School, someone tried to mug a teen. At about 9:26 p.m., a 14 year-old was riding his bike through the field, when he was approached by an unknown man who “simulated having a handgun.” The mugger grabbed the victim’s gold chain. The victim fled on the bike, chain intact.

A man was riding his bike home from work Monday at 11:45 p.m. near Edgewood Avenue/ Ella T. Grasso Boulevard/ Brownell Street when a man with a mask and gun stopped him. He pulled the victim to the sidewalk, where three other males were waiting. They robbed him of his bookback, work uniform, a bit of cash and a cell phone.

Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., a guy was driving down North Frontage Road with his wife in the car. He was seized with a “medical issue,” causing the car to drift off the street onto the sidewalk near College Street. The car hit a woman in her 20s who had been walking on the sidewalk. She was sent to St. Raphael’s Hospital. The driver was taken to Yale New-Haven Hospital. Their conditions were unknown Tuesday afternoon.
