A Henry Street man was arrested in connection to a gay-bashing strong-armed robbery this weekend. Police say several people yelled slurs about the victim’s sexual orientation while kicking him and robbing him of money and jewelry at 5:50 p.m. Sunday on Henry Street. The suspect, who’s 37, was charged with robbery and assault charges, as well as intimidation based on bigotry or bias.

On Sunday at 11:04 p.m., three women approached police to report a sexual assault. They said they had been picked up by two male acquaintances on Congress Avenue, taken to McDonalds, then taken to one of the men’s homes, where one of them was sexually assaulted by the two men. Both men were charged with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree with threat of force. One was also charged with unlawful restraint.

A woman was walking to Wal-Mart Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. when she was attacked. As she walked near Barnes and Quinnipiac Avenues, an assailant threw her to the ground and stabbed her, giving her a small wound to the left arm. The incident did not appear to be a robbery.

At 9:35 a.m. Friday, a home on the 200-block of Franklin Street was broken into via a rear fire escape. The resident was threatened by the robber, and fled.

The McDonalds at 1094 Whalley Ave was robbed at gunpoint at 8:52 p.m. Friday.
