Gateway Community College President Dorsey Kendrick (pictured) was presented with the “Workhorse Award.” West Rock’s Crunch Bunch rapped and danced about the holiday season. Those were the highlights of Empower New Haven’s annual meeting Wednesday at the Lawn Club, which celebrated the poverty-fighting group’s survival — and success — despite federal cutbacks.
