A “Magnificent” Passing

Melvin A. Esdaile was one of the “Magnificent Seven” of mostly black reformers elected to the Board of Aldermen in 1969. And he had an equally magnificent history of involvement in all sorts of civic, religious and political groups in New Haven, as have many of his relatives. His funeral is Thursday; click here to read his obituary.
