Read on for more crime details, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Winchester.

A 29 year-old man was shot in the left shin while helping someone move at 24 Shelton Terrace at 4:40 p.m. Friday.

A man remained in critical condition after being stabbed in the back Friday at 5:06 p.m. He told police he was stabbed after three men approached him from behind and tried to rob him at Edgewood Avenue and Orchard Street. The blade pierced his lung.

Two women escaped attempted abduction:

Saturday at 12:18 a.m. a 15-year-old girl was walking north on Grand Avenue near John Murphy Drive in Fair Haven when a man drove up in a pickup truck and started yelling lewd comments at her. Luckily, a husband and wife drove by, got out and scared the man away. They gave police a description of the man and his license plates. Police found and arrested the alleged perp on East Pearl Street.

On the other side of town, a woman was walking at 11:47 p.m. Sunday at Brownell and Maple Streets in the Edgewood area when an unknown man pulled up to her in a burgundy Honda. He jumped out, displayed a knife and tried to grab her. She got away, went to a nearby house and called 911.

Bungled Heist

A 21 year-old man with a gun entered Raul’s Mini Market at 181 James St. in Fair Haven at 6:54 p.m. Saturday. He told everyone in the store “this is a holdup.” When he pounded his gun on the Plexiglas demanding money, his gun broke. Holdup foiled, he was chased out the store to Grand Avenue, where police detained him and found the gun he was using, which was stolen, in a nearby Dumpster.

Home Invasions

A husband and wife were at their home in the 1000s of Quinnipiac Avenue Sunday at 2:04 a.m. when four men broke into the house bearing guns. They handcuffed the couple and proceeded to plunder the home for two hours.

At 12:48 p.m. Sunday on Barnes Avenue, which is near Foxon Boulevard, police interrupted a burglary in progress. Police detained two men outside who appeared to have been lookouts, while a third man escaped, ditching the TV in the hall.

Street Robberies

At 9:09 p.m. Saturday at 21 Elmwood Rd., a woman was robbed at gunpoint of her iPod, keys, and wallet.

At 12:07 a.m. Sunday at Central Avenue and West Elm Street, a man leaning on his car was robbed of his wallet by a man who implied having a weapon.

once again, guns are infesting our streets, and creating fear among us. Time for city cops to get tough. also time for any assistance from State cops, or anyone else to go to the streets and remove thugs now! If you have an illegal weapon, you go immediately to lock up, period. no exceptions. no defense lawyers crying garbage about excuses for carrying guns. enough is enough. otherwise, the Wild, Wild West will resurrect itself when all of us begin to protect ourselves cause nobody else is capable of protecting the community. GET TOUGH NOW!
