Crack-Seeker Shot

A West Haven man trolling the streets of Fair Haven looking to buy crack cocaine ended up shot in the abdomen… Read on for more details on weekend crime, including a flurry of street robberies all across the city, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Winchester.

Two 27-year-olds were shot Saturday night:

A man from West Haven was driving around with two females looking to buy crack cocaine in Fair Haven when they stopped the car at Lloyd Street at 9:33 in Lloyd St. In a subsequent dispute, the man was shot twice in abdomen.

Also that night, another man was shot in the leg at 7:54 p.m. at 67 Truman St.

Street Robberies:

On Friday at 6:34 p.m., a victim at Farren Avenue and Lancraft Street was confronted by 3-4 young men who demanded money.

Friday at 9:58 p.m. at 607 Winthrop Ave., a man was mugged of his gold chain by a perp on a bicycle.

At 2:28 a.m. Saturday, a patron leaving Toads Place on York Street was robbed of his keys and cell phone.

At 3:14 a.m. Saturday at Congress Avenue and Bond Street, a man refused muggers’ request. In a resulting fight, perps began breaking windows on his car.

A man reported being robbed at 12:54 a.m. Saturday at John & Peck Streets.

A cab driver was robbed with a gun at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at 174 Goffe Terrace.

At 8 p.m. Saturday and Peck and Blatchley, a man was robbed of money.

Sunday at 4:35 at 391 Fountain St., a man was pistol-whipped during an attempted mugging.
