Shot Over Gold Chain

A 19-year-old was standing outside a store at Sylvan Avenue and Orchard Street Monday when someone grabbed the gold chain around his neck. In the resulting struggle, he was shot once in the forearm, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Winchester. For block-by-block year-to-date crime info, check the Independent’s crime log.
