After a year of painful and heroic rehabilitation, including reconstruction of a leg, elbow, and parts of his face, Iraq vet Eugene DeNeutte received his homecoming and the award of a purple heart at a moving ceremony attended by scores of his friends from the Sound School, at the V.A. Hospital. Allan Appel was there and filed this story.
