Susan Bysiewicz’s gain is New Haven’s loss. Starting Friday, City Hall spokesman Derek Slap (pictured) moves to the Secretary of the State’s Office as deputy chief of staff. According to the mayor’s current spokesman (Slap), no permanent replacement has been signed up as of yet.

thanks for taking the money and running. how many chiefs of staff does the mayor have? and why do they all make so much? it makes you wonder why so many people are getting laid off. and another thing City of New Haven - stop paying contractors double to triple the salaries to them. i find it insulting and irresponsible for the City to hire so many contractors when union people can get the job done for much less while saving the general fund. but then again that's how favors are awarded - to contractors. ask for an FOI of some salaries in City Hall for contractors and prepare to be horrifed. Check the insanity in IT too! Stop the bleeding of the residents John. We get it. You want to be Gov, but we have a City to live in. It's not your personal toy.
