After a day when the police were consumed with an FBI sweep of their offices and a Newhallville double-shooting involving a possibly life-threatening injury, two more shootings were reported Tuesday night, along with a carjacking on Route 80.

Here’s the round-up, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Winchester:

A man was at the Shell station at Route 80 and Quinnipiac Avenue around 8:52 p.m. when two people approached him and “pummeled” him. Then they drove away with his gas-guzzling Cadillac Coupe de Ville.

Carjacking without weapon at 8:52 p.m. at Shell Station route 80 and Quinnipiac Ave.
While at that location, victim was “pummeled,” at the gas station by two subjects, stole 1994 Cadillac Coupe de Ville (the first model year of the “eleventh generation” of the car, according to this website). The carjackers displayed no weapons; nor did they mention any.

A call came in at 10:15 p.m. about gunshots at 242 Howard Ave. Police found the victim — a 20-year-old woman — at 184 Rosette St. with a “minor graze to the ankle.” No other details were available Wednesday morning.

At 10:34 p.m. a 23-year-old man walked into Yale-New Haven Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right arm. Police spoke with him there but reported being unable to glean any information about the incident or the location of the shooting.
