Cops Arrest 2 In Double Shooting

An alert bike cop in the Hill sparked the arrest of two men Tuesday afternoon in connection with a double-shooting that had occurred moments earlier in Newhallville, according to Lt. Christopher Kelly (pictured).
Here’s what happened, according to Lt. Kelly:
Shortly before 4 p.m. police received reports of a shooting on Lilac Street. Two men were shot. One, 19 years old, is in “extremely critical” condition. The other, 18, is stable.
An eyewitness gave the police a description of the car, complete with license plate number.
Shortly after 4 p.m., Warren Palmer, an officer who patrols the Hill on bicycle, saw the car in the area of Spring Street. He radioed it in. The car was next seen around Elliot Street by Officer Carlos Ortiz, who also radioed it in. Other cops “flooded” the area and caught up with the car and stopped it.
The car’s three occupants fled on foot. The police caught two of them and arrested them. One is 30 years old, the other 24. Police also recovered three guns and a mask. One of the guns was found on a garage roof.
Police believe the two were involved in the shootings. Detectives were conducting interviews late Tuesday to determine who did what.

Great job by the NHPD! Getting illegal guns off the street. I'm a NH resident and the cops, Officer Palmer, Ortiz, Manware, Lalli, and Myers did a good job.
