hat%20day%203.JPGYou could wear a hat at Edgewood School Thursday and not get in trouble. In fact, it was smiled on. Students raised money for Cameron Twitty, the ailing son of city schools official, by paying $1 apiece for the privilege of covering their crowns. And what a show! The school system sent in these photos; to contribute photos of your events to the Independent, click here.

What a great story! Thanks NHI for giving us more than drama, scandal and just tired news. This is uplifting and inspiring and it says that not all New Haven kids aspire to be thugs and gangster.
