Police Commissioner Chris DePino said he won’t vote or participate in deliberations about the FBI’s bribery and theft probe of city narcotics cops because of a second hat he wears — Capitol lobbyist. Click here to read more.
Other scandal developments:
Det. Justen Kasperzyk — one of two narcotics cops arrested in the bubbling theft, bribery, and gambling scandal — allegedly broke down an innocent man’s door in the Hill after a wild chase one day. Now Kasperzyk’s own front door is at risk: A local lawyer (pictured) has asked a federal judge to secure the 34-year-old detective’s Killingworth home so he can pay back over $500,000 in damages to the man he arrested. Chief Francisco Ortiz launched a citywide neighborhoods tour by police brass to reassure New Haveners. Click here to read more.

How is this a race issue? Why is this a race issue? We all have been paying the price for this and suffering from this corruption. Having our black leaders play the race card, again, is only doing the entire City a diservice. Rather than getting to the bottom of this in a collaberative effort, our leaders are enjoying the spotlight, pointing fingers and taking the divisive route. It is politics at its worst. It does not help us. It only hurts us.

I agree with the above writer. This entourage from the NAACP comes out to tell us that there is a problem with the police dept?! No Kidding Sherlock Holmes. That was like picking the COlts to win the Super Bowl on the Monday after the game. IDIOTS! These guys promote themselves any time they can. What does the NAACP say about the violent black on black crime in the city? What do they say about all the shootings in the city? How about the sotre owner who was shot in the face by a black guy a few days ago? What do they do for the community to make the streets safer for their community? . . . Answer: Nothing. They sit back, wait for a few cops to do the wrong thing, then they claim this is the reason everything is bad in the city. Have a backbone and address the real problem. Kids growing up in the inner city with no parental supervision. Go after these parents who decide to get high, not work, and feed off the governments money while their kids run the streets unchecked and armed with .45 cal's.
