City Cops Catch Hamden Murder Suspect

A man suspected of stabbing a woman to death on Hamden’s Fourth Street Wednesday morning carjacked a car to escape the scene. When the car drove into New Haven, city cops, including Mike Shapiro, saw the getaway car in Westville and made the arrest.

Teenage girls who had been fighting in West Haven took the fued to the Hill area of New Haven, in a field by Clemente Leadership Academy School at 360 Columbus Ave. Police arrived to find at least five young women were fighting there. Two 17-year-olds were arrested shortly after 3:18 p.m., both charged with second-degree assault for beating each other up. One knife was found at the scene, according to Posick.

Late Tuesday, a pizza delivery driver from Vicky’s Pizza was making a delivery at 341 Smith Ave., near Foxon Boulevard, at 11:30 p.m., when he was approached by two unknown armed men wearing ski masks. They searched him, took cash and two pizzas.
