A man told police he stopped at Grand Avenue and Ferry Street to pick up a prostitute, and was met with an unpleasant surprise. When he stopped to pick her up at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday, a man got in the front of his car, and the woman, in the back, put a blade to the driver’s neck. They told him to drive to an abandoned apartment building on Maltby Place, where they robbed him, according to police.

Read on for more crime details, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Posick.

A pizza delivery driver got held up at gunpoint when he stopped to make a delivery at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at 657 Russell St. in Fair Haven Heights. He was robbed of cash and a cell phone.

A 33-year-old New Haven man was arrested early Wednesday morning in the vicinity of 408 Whitney Ave. after a resident there complained that he had entered her apartment without her consent.

According to the victim, Moore walked into her apartment, said he was looking for “Mike,” and then exited.

Moore, who initially gave police a false name, was charged with criminal trespass in the first degree, criminal trespass in the third degree, and interfering with police.
