One woman told of a 19-year-old New Havener who had diabetes and didn’t know it, because he had no health insurance and hadn’t seen a doctor. He went to bed one day feeling tired, went into a diabetic coma and died. That was but one of many stories at a standing- room-only area forum held by the State Senate’s president (pictured) to discuss a single-payer health plan. Click here for Melinda Tuhus’s report.
