2 — Or Three? — Shot In The Hill
by Paul Bass | May 4, 2007 1:57 PM | Permalink | Comments (1)
Two young bike-riding men who swore they didn’t know each other showed up in the hospital with gunshot injuries — and a third was seen fleeing the area holding the back of his leg after shots were fired early Friday morning.
Here’s what happened, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Posick.
Police received a report of gunshots heard at Kossuth Street and Congress Avenue at 12:14 a.m. Officers didn’t find anyone at the scene. Soon after, Yale-New Haven Hospital reported that two gunshot victims had walked in. One, 19, had been shot once in the buttocks. The other, 23, had several gunshot wounds; he rode his bike to the hospital. (The other man said he’d ditched his bike on the way over; police found his bike on Baldwin Street.) The two claimed not to know each other.
Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police found a third bike at the original crime scene. Someone reported seeing a man drop the bike there and, holding the back of his leg, run down Redfield Street.

Does New Haven still have zero murders for the year 2007? If this is true, we have to publicize this more! The young men who show up at the hospital with gunshot injuries, could easily be the first homocide victims for the year. It's their choice. Put down the guns gentlemen or you'll be number one.
