Those living on Dickerman Street, where 13-year-old Jajuana Cole was caught by a stray bullet last summer, saw another teen shot — this time the victim, an 18-year-old, walked away wounded.
The 18-year-old man from Hamden drove himself to St. Raphael’s Hospital at 2:18 a.m. Tuesday. He told police he had been approached by two men on Dickerman Street, one of whom shot him several times in the left side of his body. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Read on for more details, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Posick.
A man was found lying in the street at 80 Lilac St. at 2:50 a.m. next to a parked Cadillac. He told police he had been hit by a car. He suffered minor abrasions and a hip injury.
The S B Mart at 411 Middletown Ave. was held up at gunpoint Monday at 9:35 p.m. by two men in masks with guns.
And police tracked down and arrested a suspect who they believe robbed a 26-year-old man at Sylvan Ave and Stevens Street at 2:44 a.m. Tuesday. After the victim identified the perpetrator through photographs, police went to the suspect’s bedroom, where they found possessions belonging to the victim, according to police.
