Two Shot in Newhallville

Two men remain seriously injured after a double-shooting in Newhallville Thursday night. Both drove themselves to Yale-New Haven Hospital at 11:19 p.m. They told police they had been in the area of Shelton Avenue and Gibbs Street when someone came by and opened fire on them. One man, 24, suffered life-threatening injuries from two bullets. The other man remained in serious condition Friday.

A man told police he was mugged by three subjects, with at least one gun, at 9:56 p.m. at 951 Elm St. Thursday. They took his cell, money, credit card and ID.

Assailants came into the Exxon gas station at 1570 Whalley Ave. at 11:17 p.m. with a gun. They stole money and fled in an SUV from the Regal Inn.

A man was pulled over at Goffe and Webster Streets at 1:56 a.m. Friday for a suspected DUI. A cop allegedly noticed the driver had a gun tucked into his pant leg. He was arrested for possession of narcotics, DUI, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
