On Friday at about 9:19 p.m., police pulled up next to a car outside the Brewery Square Apartments and noticed a 491-gram brick of marijuana sitting in the passenger seat of the car. They arrested the driver, who’s 27 years old.

Saturday at 8:53 p.m., a man entered the Orchard Wine and Liquors store at 153 Henry St., pointed gun at clerk and demanded money, then fled west on Henry.

Police, mental health professionals, and officials from the Yale Child Study Center gathered Saturday night outside a Howe Street home inside which a man had barricaded himself, threatening suicide. After five long hours of patient negotiation, the man was coaxed into emerging without being harmed.

Someone appears to have been shot at Howard Ave. and 1st Street around 3 a.m. Saturday. Neighbors reported 6-7 shots fired at that time. Police found a couple vehicles had been shot up. There was blood in the street and the handle of a gun but no victims present.

A state police helicopter and a K9 unit swooped into the area of 1425 Quinnipiac ave. Sunday at 2:28 a.m., responding to a witness’s account of a woman being forced at gunpoint out of a car by two men. Police found nothing to corroborate the report nor any reports of missing persons.

This morning, police arrested two suspects believed to have been involved in a series of three robberies. The arrests came after a man was robbed at knifepoint at the Haven Laundromat on Sunday. Working with a partial license plate and description of the getaway car, police tracked down the suspected getaway car and a man and a woman early Monday. The man was arrested for possessing a large kitchen knife. It matched the description of the weapon in the assault. The woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police believe the two are linked to an attempted robbery at the same laundromat on Saturday, as well as a recent shoplifting incident at the Walgreens at 88 York St.
