Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the June 12 murder of Angel Roviro, 30, of New Haven, reports police spokeswoman Bonnie Posick. In a dispute that reportedly began as a robbery of a gold chain, Roviro was fatally shot near 784 George St.
The 16-year-old, the second teen to be charged with murder in one week, was charged with felony murder, robbery in the first degree and weapons charges. Click here for Bill Kaempffer’s story in the Reg.
Read on for more crime details, according to Posick.
A woman at 473 Whalley Ave. woke up at 1:54 a.m. Tuesday to find two men standing over her, pointing guns at her. They asked her where “the safe” was. She said she didn’t have a safe. They left the house.
And a man was at home at 50 Walnut St. in Fair Haven Monday afternoon at 2:52 p.m. when two men kicked the door in in an apparent burglary attempt. In a dispute that followed, the man was pistol-whipped, and the assailants fled without stealing anything.

CHARLIE
I hope they are locked up until they reach the age of 70.
70 is not good enough. All that will happen is when they are released these low-lives will then have us taxpayers pay for all their healthcare and such. These young savages need to be executed and save everyone the trouble of taking care of them.

Edward.
While I agree that simply locking these kids up is not adequate (and ethical arguments for and against the death penalty aside), it is far more expensive on average to execute a convict than to keep them incarcerated for life. Strange but true.
