In the third homicide of the year, a 17-year-old was fatally shot Monday while leaving a Fair Haven convenience store Monday night. He was walking out of the Corner Grocery Store at 195 Lloyd St. when he was shot several times shortly before 10:29 p.m. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m.

Read on for more crime details, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Posick.

Police are searching for a 58-year-old woman who has been missing for several weeks. Grendette Hook (pictured) is a black female who is approximately 5’5” tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen in the vicinity of 480 Ferry Street. Anyone with any information about Ms. Hooks’s whereabouts is asked to call the New Haven Police Department at 946-6316.

Another 17-year-old was shot in the right hand while riding his bicycle at Henry and Dixwell Streets at 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Much of Fair Haven fell in darkness after a car crashed into a utility pole at Ferry Street and Grand Avenue Monday at 8:55 p.m.

And a man who showed up at Police Headquarters to bail out his uncle was swindled by an imposter bail bondsman. He showed up at the police station and was approached by a man who asked if he needed a bail bondsman. The man said yes. The “bail bondsman” popped into the state marshal’s office, emerged and asked for $380. The two traveled together to the ATM inside the PD. The man withdrew the money and gave it to the “bondsman,” who popped back into the office, said “you’re all set,” and took off.

Dixwell and Henry. I have been in this town for ten years. Let me guess... eight shooting victims at that intersection? Remember the old man sitting in his car, shot dead? What the hell was a seventeen year old doing riding by THAT intersection at 11:30pm? WHERE'S MY MILLION DOLLAR YOUTH INITIATIVE?

Bailbondsman..... and the NHPD has it all on their working security camera tapes and the Marshall's office was occupied, because why else would the door be open, so the person inside has been able to identify who they talked two, who popped in on them twice... right?
