Girl Continues Fighting For Life

The 11-year-old girl pinned under a car after an accident involving a hit-and-run driver remained in critical condition Friday afternoon. “She continues to be on a respirator. Doctors continue to watch her closely,” said mayoral spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga. Chief Francisco Ortiz said the girl’s grandmother was going into surgery Friday. The chief and the mayor plan next week to honor the Fair Haveners (like Gerda Genece, pictured) who lifted the car that was pinning the girl to the ground.
